Pricing Guide

Author: JDX TECH Engineering Team -- JDX TECH is a Shenzhen-based LED display factory (est. 2009) manufacturing fine pitch, outdoor, transparent and flexible LED mesh screens for B2B export to Europe and North America.

Updated: 2026-10-20

LED mesh screens confuse buyers on price because they break the usual rule: **mesh costs less per square meter than a fine pitch video wall, but more than a plain outdoor billboard of the same size**.

The variance comes from transparency, pixel pitch and customization -- and quotes between suppliers for "the same" mesh can differ by 2×.

Here are real factory-direct ranges, published openly, then the six factors that move your number up or down, and where mesh beats a solid panel on total cost.

**The short answer (JDX 2026 factory quote ranges):** JDX mesh lines start at **P37.5 and run through P56.25, P75, P80 and P100** -- purpose-built facade media pitches. Hardware prices run **$110-$420 per square meter** (FOB Shenzhen) across that range, with a typical 40 m² facade project totaling **$15,000-$27,000 all-in** including controller, custom-length strips, attachment hardware and ocean freight.

All prices are factory-direct export estimates (FOB Shenzhen, 2026, JDX TECH's own quotation ranges). Mesh is heavily customized -- final pricing depends on pitch, transparency, strip length and bending requirements.

## LED Mesh Price by Pitch and Transparency (2026)

Our mesh lines are engineered for **facade media** -- building skins that carry video content while keeping the architecture visible. Because facade viewing distances are long, the pitches run wide: **P37.5 is the entry point, with P56.25, P75, P80 and P100** above it:

| Pitch | LED density | Transparency | Factory-direct price (per m²) | Best for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| P37.5 | ~711 LED/m² | ~90% | $260-420 | Facade media at shorter viewing distances; finer imagery |
| P56.25 | ~316 LED/m² | ~93% | $190-320 | Standard facade media -- the volume choice |
| P75 | ~178 LED/m² | ~95% | $150-250 | Long-distance facade skins, large media surfaces |
| P80 | ~156 LED/m² | ~95% | $140-240 | High-transparency facades, daylight-priority skins |
| P100 | ~100 LED/m² | ~97% | $110-200 | Maximum see-through architectural media |

Mesh-only ranges (FOB Shenzhen, JDX TECH 2026 export pricing). Add $800-2,500 for the video controller, $300-800 for power/data cabling per project, and custom-length strip engineering is usually included in strip pricing.

**How to read this table:** pitch and transparency move together -- wider spacing means fewer LEDs, less substrate and a more open facade, so the most transparent option is also the cheapest per square meter. The real decision is **viewing distance vs content detail**: P37.5 carries readable imagery and animation for viewers 30+ meters out, while P75-P100 render bold graphics and light effects at long range at the lowest cost. Most facade media projects we quote land on P56.25 as the balance point.

**Why P37.5 and up?** Facade media plays bold graphics, animations and light effects at distances where finer pitches add cost without visible benefit -- and wider spacing is what makes 90%+ transparency, 2 kg/m² weight and facade-friendly pricing possible. If your project needs readable close-range text, that is a job for a fine pitch wall, not mesh -- see our [Fine Pitch LED Display](https://jdxtech.com/products/fine-pitch-led-display/) line.

## What Drives LED Mesh Cost: 6 Factors

-
**Pixel pitch and LED density.** Same logic as any LED display -- but facade mesh pitches are so wide that LED count per m² drops dramatically (P37.5 carries ~711 LEDs/m² and P100 just ~100, versus 160,000 on P2.5 solid panels). This is why mesh can cost less per square meter than solid screens despite being a specialized product -- a structural difference visible in our own P37.5 vs P2.5 quotations.

-
**Transparency requirement.** As above -- the more see-through, the fewer components, the lower the price. Do not over-specify transparency you don't need.

-
**Custom strip lengths and shapes.** Standard rectangular sections price at the table rate. Custom lengths, curves, or columns wrapped around structural members add engineering and yield cost -- typically 15-40% over standard for complex facades, per our 2026 custom-section pricing.

-
**IP rating.** IP65-IP67 waterproofing is standard on our outdoor mesh lines and priced in. "Indoor-only" mesh saves little -- order the waterproof version for any exterior or stage use where rigging, cleaning or weather is possible.

-
**Bending and flexibility grade.** Ultra-flexible mesh that wraps columns or forms waves prices above flat-run mesh. Our flexible line bends in any direction with 2 kg/m² weight -- the premium is in the connector and substrate engineering.

-
**Controller and content mapping.** Facade mesh needs mapping onto a non-rectangular pixel canvas. Budget a controller that supports custom mapping ($800-2,500) and factor content production separately.

## LED Mesh vs Solid LED Panels: The Real Cost Comparison

For a 40 m² facade media project at long viewing distance:

| Cost item | LED mesh (P37.5, ~90% transparent) | Solid outdoor panel (P10) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Hardware per m² | $260-420 | $400-700 |
| 40 m² hardware | $10,400-16,800 | $16,000-28,000 |
| Structure attachment | Light -- 2 kg/m², existing facade often suffices | Heavy -- steel frame usually required |
| Structure cost | $500-2,000 | $3,000-8,000 |
| Wind load engineering | Minimal (see-through) | Full structural review |
| Daylight visibility | Lower contrast (sparse pixels) | High brightness and contrast |
| All-in | ~$13,000-23,000 | ~$21,000-39,000 |

The mesh wins on total installed cost and on keeping the architecture visible; the solid panel wins on image impact and daylight readability. Match the choice to whether your facade brief says "media skin with see-through architecture" (mesh) or "high-impact billboard" (solid panel).

## Where the Money Goes: 40 m² Facade Quote Breakdown

| Line item | Factory-direct estimate |
| --- | --- |
| Mesh strips, 40 m², P37.5, ~90% transparent, custom lengths | $10,400-16,800 |
| Video controller with facade mapping | $1,200-2,000 |
| Power & data cabling, weatherproof connectors | $500-1,000 |
| Attachment hardware + spare strips (~3%) | $600-1,000 |
| Ocean freight + insurance | $700-1,200 |
| Subtotal delivered to port | ~$13,200-21,500 |
| Customs (~5%) | $660-1,100 |
| Local rigging/electrical (mesh installs fast -- see below) | $1,500-4,000 |
| All-in | ~$15,400-26,600 |

## The Hidden Advantage: Installation Is Cheap

Solid LED walls earn their installation line item -- steel frames, structural review, cranes. LED mesh inverts that. At 2 kg/m² with 95% transparency, the mesh often attaches directly to the existing facade or truss with standard rigging.

A two-person team covers 40 m² in days, not weeks.

-
No structural reinforcement on most buildings -- the wind passes through the mesh

-
Front-serviceable strips: a failed strip drops out and is replaced without scaffold work in most designs

-
Shipping volume collapses -- mesh packs flat, cutting freight versus cabinetized panels

This is why the all-in table above shows a small rigging line: the product is engineered to make installation inexpensive.

Budget the savings into content production instead -- facade content mapped to a sparse canvas is its own craft, and the suppliers who also do content mapping can price it alongside the hardware so nothing surprises you at handover.

## Maintenance, Lifespan and Running Cost

Mesh economics look even better after year one:

-
**Power.** Sparse LED density draws far less power per m² than solid panels -- a P75 mesh facade runs a fraction of the load of a P10 billboard wall of the same area, which matters on long-daily-play schedules (JDX power draw comparisons, 2026 product lines).

-
**Strip-level service.** Failures happen at strip level; front-service designs let a technician drop and replace one strip without scaffolding. Keep 3% spares from the original batch -- our production records let replacements calibrate to the installed wall.

-
**Cleaning and weather.** IP67 sealing handles rain and washing; the open structure means wind passes through, so storm ratings rarely force shutdowns -- a real uptime advantage over solid billboards in exposed locations.

-
**Lifespan.** The industry-standard 100,000-hour LED rating applies; expect a decade of facade duty with strip replacements as the main maintenance event.

## Lead Time and Ordering Process

Typical mesh project timeline from our 2026 order book:

-
**Quoting:** 2-4 working days -- mesh needs the facade dimensions, substrate and transparency spec to price custom strip lengths.

-
**Production:** 20-30 working days including strip assembly, waterproofing and full-length burn-in testing (longer than solid panels because strips are assembled to your custom lengths).

-
**Freight:** mesh packs flat -- a 40 m² order ships in a fraction of the container volume of cabinetized panels (JDX 2026 packing data), cutting freight cost and port delays.

-
**On-site:** rigging and strip hanging is measured in days; controller mapping and content upload close the project.

Plan 10-14 weeks from approved quote to first light on a facade project, and order before your building's scaffold or facade access comes down. Churches and venues ordering for event seasons should work backwards from the date the same way solid-panel buyers do -- mesh lead times are similar, but custom strip approvals add one round of drawings to review.

## When LED Mesh Is Not the Right Buy

-
**If the content is dense text or data** -- mesh pixels are meters apart; a solid panel or fine pitch wall is the only option for readable dashboards.

-
**If daylight readability is the priority** -- a 95% transparent mesh against a bright sky reads as a subtle media layer, not a bright billboard. If you need billboard impact, buy a billboard.

-
**If your facade owner prohibits attachments** -- even 2 kg/m² needs fixing points; fully free-standing media requires a different structure conversation.

## How to Get an Accurate Mesh Quote

Send every supplier this list:

-
Facade/stage dimensions and the attachment substrate (glass, concrete, steel truss)

-
Transparency requirement from the architect (percentages, not adjectives)

-
Viewing distance for the farthest and closest audience

-
Content type (video, animation, text ratio)

-
IP rating and wind load environment

-
Custom lengths, curves or column wraps

-
Controller mapping capability and input types

-
Spare strip percentage and batch calibration records

Any quote returned without asking these questions is a placeholder, not a price -- and placeholder prices are how mesh projects end up renegotiating mid-production, the single most expensive place to discover a missing line item.

## Stage Mesh vs Facade Mesh: Same Product, Different Brief

The two biggest mesh applications price differently even at identical area:

**Stage and event mesh** prioritizes fast rigging, flat packing and reusability. Strips get reinforced connectors for repeated hang/drop cycles, and buyers typically order in modular sections that reconfigure across venues -- usually on the finer end of the range (P37.5-P56.25) because stage audiences sit closer.

**Facade media mesh** -- our core line -- prioritizes weatherproofing, custom lengths and discreet attachment. Each strip is engineered to the building's dimensions, connectors are weather-sealed once and for all, and the design brief starts from the architect's transparency requirement. The wide pitches (P56.25-P100) exist for exactly this application: bold media on large surfaces at long viewing distance. Custom engineering explains why facade quotes ask for drawings rather than just square meters.

Buyers sometimes cross-shop: a stage company asks about facade durability, an architect asks about reusability. Both are answerable -- but tell your supplier which brief dominates, because the strip construction differs and mixing requirements mid-production is the most expensive change order in the mesh business.

## Transparency Numbers, Decoded

Architects speak in transparency percentages, and mesh quotes follow. But "transparency" is measured differently across suppliers, so pin the definition before comparing prices:

- **Open-area transparency** counts the physical holes -- the share of the facade with no material at all. A 95% open-area mesh is 95% air.

- **Optical transparency** is what the eye perceives, affected by LED size, strip width and coating -- typically 5-15 points below open-area on the same product.

- **Pixel transparency** is the share of pixels that remain visible when the screen is off -- the number that decides how "invisible" the wall looks during the day.

Ask which definition a quote uses. A "90% transparent" price built on open-area math can optical-test closer to 78% -- and that difference decides whether the architect signs off.

The second number to pin is **pixel pitch vs transparency trade-off at your viewing distance**. Moving from P75 to P37.5 adds LEDs and drops transparency simultaneously; the price rises from both directions. On a facade viewed from 60 meters, P37.5 already reads as continuous imagery, so stepping up to P56.25 or finer buys little the eye can detect. On a retail interior at 8 meters, P15-P18 is the floor for text.

Our quotation sheet prices each transparency/pitch combination explicitly for this reason -- and any supplier who quotes "transparent LED mesh" without stating both numbers is leaving the most important variable undefined.

## FAQ: LED Mesh Screen Cost

### How much does LED mesh cost per square meter?

Factory-direct, $110-420 per m² in 2026 across our P37.5-P100 facade mesh range (JDX export ranges), with P75-P100 high-transparency media skins at the low end.

### Is LED mesh cheaper than a solid LED screen?

Per square meter of hardware, usually yes at architectural pitches -- and much cheaper all-in, because the 2 kg/m² weight and see-through design cut structure and installation costs dramatically.

### What does a 40 m² LED mesh facade cost?

Typically $15,000-27,000 all-in (hardware, controller, freight, customs, local rigging) at P37.5 with ~90% transparency, per JDX 2026 project ranges.

### Does transparent LED mesh block the view?

No -- that is the point: 70-95% of the facade stays visually open, and from inside the mesh is nearly invisible during the day.

### How long does LED mesh last?

Outdoor-grade mesh carries the industry-standard 100,000-hour LED rating, the same as solid panels; the practical maintenance item is individual strip replacement, which front-service designs make a one-person job.
