Outdoor LED Display Systems for DOOH, Facade Media and Large-Format Screens
An outdoor LED screen built for advertising media and DOOH networks and concert rental work -- engineered and assembled in our own Shenzhen factory. IP65 front and rear, front or rear maintenance access, up to 10,000 nits, and up to 40% energy savings on the same brightness.

Right-Angle & Curved Customization
Break free from flat constraints -- our innovative cabinet design delivers flawless transitions for both sharp corners and smooth curves.
- 90° Seamless Right-Angle Splicing
The cabinet features an innovative 90-degree mitered edge design. It allows the screen to seamlessly wrap around outdoor building corners, eliminating the thick, ugly black gaps found in traditional corner installations for a flawless transition.
- Flexible Curved Transitions -- ultra-compact 62.5mm × 250mm mini ribbon modules allow the highly adaptable cabinet structure to be modified for curved outdoor walls or architectural pillars.
- Ultra-Tight Circular Displays
Thanks to the slim design of the ribbon modules, the entire display can achieve a minimum circular diameter of 716mm, delivering incredibly smooth, sleek, and non-faceted curves for creative landmarks.
45° Bevel Cut Flexibility
Our cabinets support precise 45° bevel cutting, enabling creative configurations -- two cabinets form a perfect right angle, four cabinets seamlessly combine into a sturdy column. Perfect for corner installations, curved walls, and architectural pillars.

45° Bevel Cut
Each cabinet can be precisely cut at 45° on the edge, allowing flexible arrangement for any creative layout.

Right Angle Assembly
Join two bevel-cut cabinets to create a seamless 90° corner -- ideal for building edges, pillars, or L-shaped displays.

What buyers usually define before an outdoor LED display quote
Outdoor LED display projects become easier to scope when the buyer defines location type, audience distance, structure conditions, and content management expectations before the quote is finalized.
Location and visibility planning
Roadside, building facade, plaza, and public-traffic environments all require different pixel pitch, brightness, and message timing strategies.
Structure and maintenance access
Wall loading, support structure, service clearance, and access method should be clarified early so the proposal fits the actual installation site.
Weather and operating demands
Outdoor use usually requires a clear plan for waterproofing, day-night brightness control, temperature exposure, and long-hour reliability.
Media workflow and control
A stronger quote usually includes scheduling method, network control, update frequency, and whether the screen supports single-brand use or shared advertising rotation.
Outdoor LED display or outdoor LED screen -- the difference is in the wording, not the hardware
Both terms point at the same assembly: LED modules, a cabinet, a receiving card, a power supply and a control system. The word "display" is more common in specifications and tender documents. The word "screen" is more common on the media-owner and rental side. Add "billboard" or "DOOH" and you are describing where the screen is used, not what it is built from. JDX is a Shenzhen LED display manufacturer, so both enquiries arrive at the same factory bench. When you compare quotations, compare the module, the cabinet and the protection rating -- not the noun.
What never changes between the two names
The cabinet is the same 1500 × 1000 mm, 1000 × 1000 mm, 1000 × 500 mm or 1500 × 500 mm unit. The modules are the same 62.5 × 250 mm mini ribbon modules. The rating is the same IP65 front and rear. Naming has no effect on what leaves the factory.
When a buyer says "outdoor LED screen"
Usually a media owner, DOOH operator or rental house. The questions that follow are about content rotation, viewing distance, remote updates, rigging speed and how the screen travels between venues. That is a workflow conversation more than a hardware one.
When a buyer says "outdoor LED display"
Usually a contractor, system integrator or a tender document. The questions are about cabinet format, wall loading, service clearance, protection rating and how the structure carries the weight. Read the advertising LED solutions route if your project is being specified by someone else.
What to send with either wording
Location type, screen area, viewing distance, structure condition, service access and where the content comes from. Those six points decide the cabinet, the brightness and the control system. Send them and the export team can answer with an itemised quotation instead of a range.
What actually drives the cost of an outdoor LED display
JDX does not publish a price list, because the same cabinet can be specified for a 12 m² shopfront sign or a 400 m² roadside billboard and the cost per square meter is not the same. These six items explain where the money goes.
1. Screen area
Any dimension from 1 m² to 1000 m². Area sets the module count, the power supply load, the receiving-card count and the steel structure behind the screen. It is the single largest multiplier.
2. Brightness and protection level
Up to 10,000 nits is specified when the screen faces direct sunlight. A shaded facade or an east-facing wall that only runs in the morning can be specified lower. IP65 front and rear is the baseline for permanent outdoor installation, not an upgrade.
3. Cabinet format
Combining the four standard panel sizes wastes less material than a fully custom build. Custom geometry -- 45° bevel-cut corners for a seamless 90° right angle, or curved arrays down to a 716 mm minimum diameter -- is real tooling and real labour.
4. Structure and service access
Front access means maintenance happens from the front, so no rear walkway is needed. Rear access is cheaper on the cabinet but needs clearance behind the screen. This is a site decision, not a product decision, and it changes the total installed cost.
5. Control and content workflow
A single-brand sign and a shared advertising rotation are not the same system. Scheduling, network control and remote update frequency belong in the specification, and they are cheaper to include than to retrofit. Compare the LED billboard path if the screen will sell advertising space -- an outdoor LED billboard that rotates several advertisers needs a different controller to a digital billboard that shows one brand.
6. Freight, duty and spares
DDP, DAP or FOB with export documents and customs handled, door to door in 100+ countries. Spares policy is worth pricing at the same time as the screen -- a module that arrives in three days beats a module that arrives in three weeks.
What to send instead of asking for a price
Send the location type, screen area, viewing distance, structure condition, access method and content source. The export team replies with a detailed, itemised quotation within 24 business hours -- or sooner if the site photos are attached to the enquiry. Larger projects routinely need the project files reviewed before the cabinet is fixed.
Outdoor LED display: questions buyers ask before ordering
The seven questions that come up most often on outdoor enquiries, answered with the specification JDX actually builds to.
How much does an outdoor LED display cost?
It depends on screen area, brightness, cabinet format, structure and access method -- see the six cost drivers above. JDX does not publish a price list, because a 12 m² shopfront unit and a 400 m² roadside billboard do not share a cost per square meter. Send the project details and you get an itemised quotation rather than a range.
What size can an outdoor LED screen be built to?
Any dimension from 1 m² to 1000 m². The screen is assembled from four standard panel sizes -- 1500 × 1000 mm, 1000 × 1000 mm, 1000 × 500 mm and 1500 × 500 mm -- combined in any order. Using the standard sizes keeps material waste and freight cost down compared with a fully custom panel.
Is an outdoor LED display waterproof?
A permanent outdoor LED display screen should be IP65 on the front and the rear, which is what makes the cabinet weatherproof against driven rain and dust. Every unit also runs a 48+ hour aging test before it is packed, so faults show up in the factory rather than on the wall. An IP31 cabinet belongs indoors -- this is one of the differences covered on the indoor fine pitch pages.
Can an outdoor LED display be curved or built around a corner?
Yes. 45° bevel-cut cabinets join to form a floating 90° seamless right angle with ±1.5 mm accuracy, which is why this cabinet can wrap a building corner without a visible dark seam. Using the 62.5 × 250 mm ribbon modules, a continuous curve can go down to a 716 mm minimum circular diameter.
How bright should an outdoor LED screen be?
Up to 10,000 nits is specified when the screen faces direct sunlight and has to stay readable at midday. Brightness is not free -- it costs power and it shortens component life if the screen runs at full output around the clock -- so the day and night levels should be scheduled separately. The fanless cooling design and the cabinet structure together allow up to 30% energy savings on the same brightness.
How long does production take?
Ready to ship in as little as 15 days after specification and order confirmation, subject to configuration, quantity and the production schedule. Freight transit time is additional. Production, aging, packing and export documentation are handled by the factory, and DDP or FOB terms are both available. Screens for rental fleets that need to move between venues are usually built to the Orion AdVision transport-ready configuration.
When is Orion AdVision a better fit than a standard outdoor LED screen?
Orion AdVision is the right route when the project needs advertising-grade outdoor performance -- the 90° seamless right angle, curved geometry, front and rear service access, and a cabinet built for repeated handling -- rather than a flat rectangular wall where a plain fixed cabinet would do. If the job is a standard rectangle on a wall, a simpler fixed cabinet is the cheaper answer.
How do I choose the right Orion AdVision specification?
The right specification depends on screen size, audience distance, local daylight conditions, structure limitations, maintenance access, and whether the installation is for roadside media, building facade advertising, or networked DOOH deployment.
What details should I send before requesting an Orion Advision quote?
A strong quote request should include target dimensions, installation location, viewing distance, brightness expectation, structure type, front or rear service preference, content control method, and whether the screen supports a single brand or rotating advertising campaigns.
Outdoor LED display is quoted by screen area. The final price depends on pixel pitch, brightness level, cabinet protection rating and order quantity. Send your screen size and installation height and we will return an itemised quotation.
